Cleavers, aka Galium Aparine is pungent annual from the Rubiaceae family with tiny hairs, clinging leaves, and seeds that stick to passers-by. Found growing throughout the world, Cleavers is also known as bedstraw after its historical use as mattress stuffing. Fresh leaves and stems are frequently added to fresh spring salads, but dried Cleavers are commonly tinctured, steeped as a tea, or used topically.
