Moringa is a superfood that provides an impressive amount of plant-based protein, vitamins, and minerals. Moringa is a fast-growing tree native to South Asia and now found throughout the tropics. Its leaves have been used as part of traditional medicine for centuries, and the Ayurvedic system of medicine associates it with the cure or prevention of about 300 diseases. It has been used medicinally, and as a food source, for at least 4,000 years. Gram-for-gram, moringa contains: two times the amount of protein of yogurt, four times the amount of Vitamin A as carrots, three times the amount of potassium as bananas, four times the amount of calcium as cows' milk, and seven times the amount of vitamin C as oranges.
