Queen of the Meadows, aka Meadowsweet, is believed to have various medicinal properties such as anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diaphoretic diuretic, haemostatic, sanative, stomachic, and tonic. The active ingredients present in this medicinal plant are essential oils, flavonoids, phenolic glycosides, salicylic acid, and tannins. Meadowsweet was one of the three holiest medicinal herbs of the Druids. The inflorescence consists of slicylic acid, which is used in the synthesis of the drug aspirin.
